Getting started
What is Vedic astrology?
Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, is the traditional astrology of India. It uses the sidereal zodiac, the Moon sign and 27 nakshatras, and it times events with dasha periods.
Do I need to be Hindu or Indian to consult?
No. Anyone can have a Vedic reading, whatever their religion, nationality or background.
Can I consult from outside India?
Yes. Sessions are held by Zoom, phone or WhatsApp video, and your chart is calculated from your birth details wherever you were born.
What do I need to share?
Your full name, date of birth, exact time of birth and place of birth (city and country). If you do not know the time, say so and Panditji will advise.
Which time zone are sessions in?
Panditji's hours are Monday to Saturday, 10:00–19:00 India Standard Time (UTC+5:30). Tell us your time zone and we will confirm the session time in your local time.
Is Vedic astrology different from Western astrology?
Yes. The zodiac is different (sidereal rather than tropical), so signs can differ by about 24 degrees. Vedic astrology also uses nakshatras and dasha periods. See Vedic vs Western astrology.
Why is my Vedic sign different from my Western sign?
Because the sidereal and tropical zodiacs are about 24 degrees apart. Your Sun sign in Vedic astrology is often the sign before your Western one.
Sessions and format
How are sessions held?
By Zoom, phone call or WhatsApp video, or in person at the Ludhiana office by appointment.
In which language are sessions held?
English. Hindi and Punjabi are also available on request.
How long is a session?
A short session is about 30 minutes and a full session about 60 minutes. A written PDF report is also available.
Can I record the session?
Please ask before the session so that it can be agreed in advance.
What if I do not know my exact birth time?
Share what you know. Without an exact time, the Rising sign and houses may be uncertain, so some readings are less precise.
Fees, privacy and policy
How much does a consultation cost?
Panditji first speaks with you about your concern. Fees are discussed after that first conversation, in a currency we agree with you, and there is no obligation.
How do I pay from abroad?
Payment options for international clients are shared after your first conversation.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

Is my information kept private?
Yes. Your birth details and questions are used only for your consultation. See our Privacy Policy.
Do you guarantee results?
No. Astrology offers guidance and perspective, and outcomes depend on many factors, including your own decisions.
Is astrology a substitute for professional advice?
No. Medical, legal, financial, immigration and mental-health matters need qualified professionals.
